| > 12/11/2006 - Happy Holidays everyone! We hope you're all have a wonderful time with your friends and families this Christmas, Chanuka, Solstice, or whatever it is you might be celebrating at this time of year. We know it's been a while since you've heard from us, but the music is still around, and maybe, just maybe, there'll be more of it. And hopefully, a few of you will visit too. |
| > 2/15/2005 - Hey everyone, welcome to 2005! We hope you are having a good year. In the big news, Mike Grebb is having a CD release show at Iota on Feb. 22, and Jim Hodson will be playing guitar and singing backups for him. Jim sang on some of the songs on Mike's new CD, Resolution. The show starts at 8:30pm at Iota in Arlington, VA. It will be a lot of fun, so come and out and hear some great new music, and watch Jim ham it up as a guitarist! Details on the Shows page. | | > 5/14/2004 - So get this! We're going to be playing a live in-store performance at Tower Records next weekend. The first 15 people to get there and mention this special will get a FREE JOS t-shirt. A week later we'll be back in Ellicott City at Tiber River Tavern, and in Fairfax at Fat Tuesday's supporting Ebo. We've got some great shows coming up, so don't miss them! Details on the Shows page. | | > 2/21/2004 - Hey everyone! We know it's been a while since we said "hey" here, so we thought it is about time. How are you doing? OK, I guess that's a rhetorical question in this case. As for news, JOS has recently been back in the studio recording a new track. Look out for it here on our site in MP3 format. We'll let you know. Also, JOS will be playing at TT Reynold's in Fairfax coming up. We had a great time at Hilltop Brewery in Virginia Beach with Some Odd Sense--the crowd was great. | | > 12/10/2003 - It's that time of year! We have a couple Christmas shows coming up for you this week. Thursday is the big Holiday bash at Rhodeside Grill in Arlington, VA. Instant G will be rockin' too. In case you don't know, Dan Wilson, our new bass player, is the brother of the drummer from Instant G, Doug. This show will be a lot of fun. Then Friday the 12th, JOS will be headlining Top Of The Stairs back at Virginia Tech. So all you Hokies take a break from exams and party with us. All the cool kids are doing it! Check out the JOS Messageboard for all the latest and greatest information, or just to say "hey." See you soon! | | > 11/21/2003 - Back by popular demand (as far as you know) , we'll be rockin' the SteamThingie Tailgate at Virginia Tech tomorrow before the game against Boston College. The show starts at 1pm, and happens right between Wallace and Litton Reeves on the VT campus. Here's some pics from last year... Also, check out the article in the Collegiate Times (VT's newspaper) about the show! Happy Thanksgiving everyone :) | | > 10/16/2003 - JOS will be playing RFK Stadium--yep, you heard right--RFK Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 25! It's the Pre-game Party for DC United's final regular season game of the year. The Junkies from WHFS will be there, and JOS will be playing the rock show. At the party, you get all you can drink plus a ticket to the game: all for just $25! Order tickets online or for information contact Mike DeFazio at 703.563.1040 or at mdefazio@dcunited.com. Thanks to the Steamthingie Tailgaters and all the folks at Virginia Tech for an awesome party at the Homecoming game last weekend (it helped that Syracuse got stomped, but we're biased). You guys rocked! We had a great time, and can't wait to do it again. We'll be posting pics from last weekend very soon. | | > 9/24/2003 - Thanks to everyone who supported JOS at the Birchmere earlier this month. We had a great time playing there, and having Dave Brown playing the show with us. We'll be posting some pics soon too. This Friday, we're headed back to Dewey Beach for the Music Festival this weekend. There will be a ton of bands there, and it'll definitely be good fun. Dan Wilson will be rocking on the bass with us for the first time. See you there! Check out the details. By the way, to all you Hokies out there, JOS will be playing again this fall at the SteamThingie Tailgate, this time for the Oct. 11 Homecoming game against Syracuse. This show is gonna stomp! Don't miss it. Here's some pics from last year... | | > 9/4/2003 - JOS will be performing at the Birchmere for the first time, tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 5, supporting Black 47. In case you're not familiar with them, Black 47 is an Irish band out of New York City who play a cross between Celtic, rock, and rap music. Don't try to imagine it, just come out. This is gonna be a great show, folks, so let's show the Birchmere how great JOS fans are! | | > 8/13/2003 - JOS is back at The State Theatre tomorrow night, Thursday 8/14. The show is 18+, and it should be really cool. Oddbox and Catch-A-Fire, will be playing too. Don't miss JOS at the Birchmere next month, on Friday, Sept. 5. We'll be opening for Black 47, a really cool Irish rock band with influences that span from traditional celtic to rap. See you there! Thanks to everyone who came out to TT Reynold's in Fairfax, and to that private party a couple weeks ago. We had a great time with you guys--you know who you are! July also had a lot of vacation time in it for JOS. Jim went sailing on the Chesapeake Bay, Jake visited some family, and Frost headed out for his yearly skateboarding adventure in the Himalayas--OK, maybe not. Anyway, we all had a good time and got some much-needed rest and relaxation. | | > 6/17/2003 - JOS will be headlining at The State Theatre this Friday, and it's gonna be an awesome show. Three bands, only $5, and it's 18+ too. The State Theatre is a really nice venue, and we love to play there, so don't miss it. Two great bands, Odyssey and Laidback, will be joining us. See you there! In other news, the good reviews keep coming in for Paper Covers Rock. By the way, you can now buy the CD at Tower Records in Tysons Corner, and The Record Exchange in Blacksburg, VA! And for those of you who missed the show at Iota in March, you will be able to see it on TV sometime next month (we'll let you know)on Late Nite with Erik Haase. Thanks so much to everyone who came out to Sign of the Whale earlier this month. We had a great time, playing semi-acoustic versions of all our stuff. It kept us on our toes!. | | > 5/12/2003 - This Thursday at Iota is time for TV! Yeah, you heard right. Jennifer On Sunday is going to be taped before a live studio audience (that would be you) for Late Nite with Erik Haase. Do not miss your chance to be on TV and show people what JOS fans are all about! This is the first return to Iota since the CD release show that you folks made so much fun. Come on out this Thursday and make it happen again, this time for the camera! Check out the details. Thanks so much to everyone who partied with us over the last month at Virginia Tech, from the green shirts to all you who have no idea what the hell we're talking about. It was fun. Don't forget to say hey this summer, and check out the new CD at a place like the Record Exchange in Blacksburg, or Tower Records in Tysons Corner. | | > 4/1/2003 - Everything happens in threes, right? Let's hope so. It all started a couple weeks ago when our graceful drummer, Frost, fell off his bike and carved up his hand in the gravel. Ouch. Next, our even less graceful singer, Jim, wiped out while snowboarding in Quebec and dislocated his left arm (try explaining a dislocated arm to a lift ticket clerk who only speaks french). At this point, Jake was getting really nervous due to his firm belief that bad things happen in threes. Fortunately for him, road manager Timm broke his toe while on vacation in Mexico (let's not ask what he was doing). We all hope that Jake is in the free and clear! We have a bunch of shows coming up this month, including a couple cool shows at Virgina Tech, a return to Virginia Beach, and a spring launch at Dewey Beach. Check out the details. | | | | JenniferOnSunday.email.list: Stay on top of all the news and announcements. Enter your email address below and click Join. | |
